‘Thank goodness I am sitting down’: Kate McCann back on air after fainting during Tory debate

Presenter Kate McCann was back on air Wednesday (27 July) after taking a tumble as she moderated TalkTV’s live Tory leadership debate.

"Good evening, I'm Kate McCann, and after the excitement from last night's leadership debate, thank goodness I am sitting down," the broadcaster quipped in the opening lines of the her talk show The News Desk.

Tuesday’s head-to-head debate between Rishi Sunak and Liz Truss, was abruptly dumped off air after McCann passed out. McCann said she was feeling “a little embarassed and a little bruised” but otherwise “totally fine” after her fall.
