Jurgen Klopp says 'nothing is decided' after Liverpool's victory at Fulham sends them top

Liverpool won their last meeting with Tottenham when the two teams met at Wembley in September, with Georginio Wijnaldum and Roberto Firmino scoring for the Reds, and Lucas Moura grabbing a consolation for Spurs.

Last season’s fixture was a cracker: a Mo Salah double was cancelled out by a long-range bullet by Vincent Wanyama and a last-minute Harry Kane penalty.

The stakes are somewhat higher this year however; Liverpool are gunning for the title, and can’t afford to drop points in a title race where any slip could prove costly.

Tottenham have been dragged back into the top-four battle, and after a poor run of form are only a point above Arsenal in fourth and three above Manchester United in fifth.

Furthermore, Spurs have not beaten Liverpool at Anfield since 2011.

Prediction…

Liverpool 2-1 Tottenham

A big game for both teams, but Tottenham’s poor domestic form in recent months means Liverpool have the edge here. As they’re likely to head into the match in second place, with Manchester City playing Fulham on Saturday, the onus is on Jurgen Klopp’s side to respond with three points. Tottenham will have to stop the in-form Sadio Mane, who has scored five goals in his last three games, and Liverpool have an excellent home record against Spurs, winning five of the last seven games in all competitions at Anfield.
